Babies 2-4 months
What is the development of babies from 2 to 4 months?
- The baby begins the vocalization process, first with vowel sounds and then with slightly longer guttural sounds called chirps, with which he tries to interact with the adult seeking communication.
- He moves his legs alternately as if he were pedaling, appears animated and smiles in the presence of others (social smile) and responds with sounds to a loving conversation.
- Around four months, when we show him an object, he follows it in the midline and grabs it, trying to put it in his mouth.
- Holds head more and more firmly, both in an upright and prone position. When we take his hands to try to sit him up, he holds his head.
- By the end of this period, some babies develop the ability to move from the lying position on their back to their stomach and vice versa.
